Andrew Stock has been a professional artist since leaving school in 1978. Inspired by his love of the natural world and painting mainly in oils and watercolours he has built an international reputation on successful exhibitions and commissions. From 2008 until 2012 he was represented by Frost & Reed in London. His most recent exhibitions, the call of the running tide in 2013 and Ulusaba in 2014, were held at the Mall Galleries (London).

Andrew's early enthusiasm for bird painting has not diminished, although his portfolio now includes landscapes, boats and figures. Whether he is trekking in the Himalayan foothills or bouncing around in a small boat in the Outer Hebrides, it is a glimpse of wildlife within the natural patterns, textures and play of light that is so often the moment of inspiration. From scribbles and sketches made in the field the final paintings are usually then developed in the studio.

Andrew was President of the Society of Wildlife Artists (SWLA) from 2004 to 2009. He first exhibited with the society in 1981 and was elected a member in 1983. He also served as secretary for nine years. The first President of the SWLA (in 1964) was Sir Peter Scott, the great conservationist and artist, who encouraged Andrew in his early painting career.

Andrew is also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers (RE) and has a growing reputation for the uncompromising skill and detail in his etchings.
